You’ll either love the brashness of this design or you’ll hate it. I kind of dig it but completely understand why you might hate it. Anyone reading this should keep in mind that software, like design, is more of a subjective matter, and so what I might not like, someone might love. And if you are someone who loves Xiaomi’s MIUI, then you would love the Poco X3 Pro too. The Poco X3 Pro has been nothing short of impressive in every category I have tested until now.
In general, this range of protection is only available for flagship smartphones. For instance, Samsung S20 and ASUS ROG phones are flaunting this level of protection and they cost an average monthly pay of a software engineer. With a 6.67-inch screen and massive 5160mAh battery, the X3 Pro is one of the largest and heaviest phones in this category. It doesn’t feel unwieldy, but it isn’t conducive to one-handed use. Overall, MIUI 12 gets a lot right, and it is a delight to use on the POCO X3 Pro. I didn’t see any spam notifications during my usage, and the UI is well-optimized for the hardware. Xiaomi will deliver quarterly security updates and two platform updates, which is on par with the rest of the devices in this segment. The camera interface itself should be immediately familiar if you’ve used a Xiaomi phone in the past. All the shooting modes are easily accessible, and you have toggles for HDR, flash, timer, AI, Google Lens, and switching between the various lenses.

Although the 5,160mAh battery seems to struggle with extended video playback, it should get many people through the day with capacity to spare, while fast charging support firmware files is another plus. The Poco X3 Pro also scores points with its 120 Hz IPS display, solid battery life, fast UFS 3.1 storage, and 48 MP main camera that shoots good photos in daylight. In addition, there are small but nice details like an IP53 certification, a 3.5 mm audio jack, NFC, an IR blaster, a notification LED, and stereo speakers.
